FUNDRAISING: Steve Reakes, of Litton Close, is trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Water Aid, a charity that seeks to provide safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people.

Steve, his brother John and friend Ash will reach the summit on February 2, after a seven-day climb, and have financed the trip themselves.

Log on to www.justgiving.com/kilitramps where you can sponsor Steve and leave a message of support.

QUIZ night: Oakley Junior School Association is running its ever-popular quiz night at the school on Friday, March 23.

Tickets go on sale soon and, as usual, are expected to sell out.
