THE Dignity of Difference was the theme of Saturday's Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration services at St Mary's Parish Church.
The service remembered the lives of the millions of people from differing communities, including Jews, Roma and Sinti Gypsies, people with disabilities, and gay, lesbian and black people who were excluded and killed by the Nazis during the Second World War.
The service focused on what the holocaust can teach about the consequences of exclusion and persecution; as well as the experiences of the groups and what could have been done to prevent the persecution.
People were also asked to think about the various groups today and how to create a culture of respect.
